SAYYID SAMEER ALI

Sayyid Sameer Ali is a mental health and wellness support professional, providing support to individuals, teens, families, and couples. He strives to provide a safe space as a faith-based professional with Islamically integrated treatments for anxiety, trauma, depression, and other common mental health wellness concerns.

He works to create goals for treatment and focuses on client wellness and empowerment through employing clinical and faith-based tools. He was trained in the traditional Islamic seminary as a scholar, focusing on Islamic philosophy. He obtained a graduate degree (MA) in Religious Studies from Stanford University, and published on Islamic culture including manuscripts and rare books in the medical sciences. Sayyid Sameer honed his skills in pastoral care and counseling, empathic listening, emotional assessment and support, and spiritual care as a chaplain.

He has served as a chaplain for over 12 years and has obtained board certification from the Spiritual Care Association. In a university setting, Sayyid Sameer served as a chaplain on campus advocating for the needs of Muslim students in a secular setting and creating space for the expression of their religious and cultural identities. His passion led him to his second Master’s degree in mental health counseling, focusing on the intersection between clinical assessment, pastoral care, and faith-based counseling.
